Absolution, Fifty Shades, and True Blood finale. What the…?

Okay, deep breath. I guess we first talk about Ranger and Stephanie. So the shark? I know, I wrote it just because it was fun. Ranger is not the type of guy to blast his true feelings. We’ll just see him lose a little control sometimes, right? I couldn’t help myself with Lester. I thought that if I was in their shoes that I truly might be resentful just like them.

Lester didn’t care that Stephanie was nice to his men. He had no problem with women, could care less. She was just a big pain in Bobby’s butt. It’s not that he didn’t care, but talking to Stephanie was probably like talking to a muppet to him. She didn’t take anything that seriously. Who cares if she was nice to a bunch of big buff guys? The guys really don’t, they don’t think that way. They are thinking, I’d like to nail that.

Writing Ranger made me see both sides better. I’ve tried to put myself in a man’s shoes. A man and a woman’s point of view and how they think is like night and day. I have even had my husband in on the writing of these stories. He hates it, but he answers my questions honestly.

Here is a chapter where I have let you lead me. Some of you were uncomfortable that Ranger was sharing with Sylvia. In this chapter, he tells her that she needs to go when she asks personal questions. Do you think there will be fall-out from that? See, like in life, what you write has a consequence too. Interesting, huh?

I was in an argument with my son’s new high school over that same issue. The Journalism department wrote a harmful story about one of his middle school teachers. She was a good teacher and lost her position. I told the principal that they were breeding future paparazzi’s. He thought it was amusing, it’s not. Unfortunately, he asked what I did for a living. I have to go and speak to the Journalism class now.

Next item up for discussion. Fifty Shades of Grey. Who is happy with the casting? I swear the pictures make me grimace. The guy is just weird and the girl is boring and plain Jane. I do NOT want to watch those two doing anything, much less, IT! I’m seriously thinking that it may go the way of janet’s One for the Money movie that they ruined.

I guess a lot of actors were just going to have a problem with the goofy dialogue in the movie. I can picture a real macho guy going, “I’m not saying that.” Hahaha!

Last sore subject, last night’s True Blood finale. Come on! Sookie ends up with a man with no face? Bill was right when he had that dream about their baby with the void for a face. The writers may have been headed in the right direction, but they crashed and burned. Heard they got budget cuts and since the series was ending already this season they cut it from 12 episodes to 10. Then I guess they nixed bringing in a new character for an ending love interest for her. Well, as far as I’m concerned, the writers and HBO are talentless if that’s the best that they could come up with in the end. I could have written better. Well, I think I could.

Comments welcome. Let’s grouch, girls.

New Story and Sequel to Redemption: The Absolution.

No sooner than you guys talked me into doing a sequel, I kind of had the story in my head, and began typing. So, thought I’d go ahead and put up the first chapter, and give you a taste. However, as I was typing, I just could not jump into weaving a happy ever after for Stephanie. Why? Because at this point I didn’t think she deserved it. A friend who read part of the first chapter, mentioned that in hearing both their voices, they seemed to be thinking totally opposite. Yes, and it will be a while before they are trusting and thinking together on the same wave length.

The revelation in the doctor’s office at the end of Redemption was only the beginning of their long journey ahead. I made a note in the first chapter of the new story about how I personally feel. If you want to talk about your own point of view, here is the place. This was my note:

A/N – I’m sorry, I know a lot of you side with Stephanie, but when I began writing again, I just couldn’t. My own mother is worse than her mother, Helen. I may not be right either, but I just never would or could be as aloof or irresponsible thinking as she is. I always strived to do better, and it wasn’t easy because I didn’t have just a little devil on my shoulder saying I couldn’t do anything right, I had TWO parents saying that at the same time. So, I’m sorry, she may be a nice person, but come on? The secrets, the lies, the two-timing. I just can’t give her all my sympathy in this story.

I have a friend like her that I tried to help repeatedly over the years. She was pretty, the guys liked her, she was fun. However, she had a difficult upbringing as well. Daddy abandoned the family, and left them destitute, he was rich, a doctor, never paid any child support. She always had to have a man, always picked the wrong ones, always made the wrong choices. Well, her looks began to fade, she ended up on painkillers, later she was stealing, men set her out, and I had to cut her loose as a friend. I had my own family, and you don’t lie or steal from me when I’m trying to help you. The last time, I bought her clothes, gave her some silver jewelry. She lost the earrings in less than a week. Ironically, she even had a baby that died. Her one and only. Poor little thing had severe birth defects.

She uses men, and even her friends to putter through life, and I’m sorry, but that is Stephanie Plum in a nutshell. What it boils down to is that she may not like to be dependant on anyone, like have someone telling her what to do, but even in the books when she needs money or a place to stay, she goes to the men in her life. Like my friend, she has learned to be a user. Has no appreciation for anything, not even gifts from friends. Now, she’s just reaping the consequences of her actions, and she is damn lucky that Ranger is giving her the time of day. I don’t care what he did in the beginning or the end. He did a lot for her, invested his time and money in her, gave her protection, helped her all the time, but he had no obligation to her. They were friends with benefits. We forget sometimes that Morelli, not Ranger, was her boyfriend.

So we shall see if Stephanie Plum goes the way of my friend or if she finally decides to grow up, and begin making unselfish, and responsible decisions. I promise you that that would be the one and only reason why Ranger would take Angel away from her altogether.

The last chapter of Redemption was posted today. Anyone want to talk about the ending? Many of you were really angry at Morelli and her own family.

I couldn’t be angry with Joe. He was the one that was hurt the most in the whole scandal. His dreams literally came crashing down around him, doesn’t matter if they matched hers or not. He was devastated.

As far as Grandma Mazur and her parents, my thinking was that they were doing what some parents do. They mistakenly thought they were doing the right thing. They sent her out into the wilderness, broken and beat down, and she didn’t make it.

Ranger rescued her, but in the wrong way. In the end, they both needed redemption for their wrongs, and some higher power left them a gift to help with that.

Author note – I have never written a story where the vote for a sequel was almost unanimous. You forced my typing hands, and I guess I’m going to have to put out. I know, bad joke. But, Steph was a ho for a while. LOL

Way to Go wins a publisher!

About ten months after I conceived the ridiculous idea of writing an original book, I was signed by a publisher in May. Thank you Omnific Publishing, and thank you to all of my fans for the support, and good wishes during an arduous process. It was sometimes a labor of love, and other times a scratch my butt, and head, exasperating experience. I had to explain many loud thunks coming from my writing room when I got those rejection emails.

Special thanks goes to an awesome editor you know as Jenrar, she made my book come alive, and helped guide me to Omnific. I have a team working on my book now, and I’ve been given a disappointing tentative publishing date of March 2015. However, I’m still pushing for end of the year, and all of the editors working on the book are aware.

So, if you like, you may sign up for the Omnific Publishing newsletter, and receive updates on new releases including mine. There is a link on the sidebar to the left. Those guys are very nice folks, and they have a lot of great authors over there.

Thanks again to my loyal readers and friends!
